Rochester Olmsted Parks Alliance is launching Verdant View, the newsletter of the Rochester Olmsted Parks Alliance (ROPA), by which we extend our conversations, views and news of our activities to all in the broader community. 

ROPA is the all-volunteer organization of park advocates, including leaders of preservation, parks and neighborhood groups which, over the last twenty years, has worked to promote the appreciation and preservation of our historic Olmsted parks. The parks and landscapes designed by Frederick Law Olmsted (1822-19030) and the Olmsted firm (1857-1979), remain the green heart of our community. They are also our part of a national heritage of masterworks of design which shaped development into the 20th century, and which remains unsurpassed in scope and scenic quality.  Our local Olmsted legacy has delighted, inspired and connected us for over 130 years and remains invaluable as common ground of uncommon beauty, for all people, for environmental resilience, health, inspiration and joy.
